Teacher Training

St. Alban’s Catholic Academy are the Lead School for Harlow Teacher Training Partnership (HTTP), providing training through the Forest Independent Primary Collegiate. The Partnership works to train good and outstanding student teachers to benefit and make a positive difference to our pupils in our schools. The Partnership works closely with many schools across Harlow and neighbouring areas who host our student teachers.

HTTP train students in Harlow schools, for Harlow schools
and is the collective name for St. Alban’s and all it’s partner schools.

Our Lady of Fatima Trust helps trainee teachers to gain placements and embark on successful careers. We offers bespoke extra support sessions to our student teachers, from the point of offer and throughout their course, to help them progress and enjoy teaching. Example sessions are:
Voluntary experience in schools prior to course commencement
Support for skills tests
Informal meetings with other students, past and present.

"Training to be a teacher is like riding a rollercoaster, it has its highs and its lows, challenges and successes.  The opportunities that I have been given and to come out of the SCITT programme in Harlow have been fantastic.  You are supported from start to finish by high quality mentors, external mentors and course leads to become the best teacher that you can possibly be."  Richard Foster 2019
